Asaba Harumasa is a carefree executive office working for Hollow Special Operations Section 6. Once considered a child prodigy, he is proficient with bow a bow and dual blades but now he is known as a master at taking leave. He dislikes working and is prone to slacking off.
Harumasa was born with a disease called Ether Aptitude Regression Syndrome. The disease grants him exceptional ether aptitude but at the cost of his physical health. People with Ether Aptitude Regression Syndrome often die young or become corrupted into an Ethereal. The oldest survivor was 26. His parents abandoned him at a hospital when he was young where he received treatment throughout his childhood.
However, the injections and tests he took weren't meant to treat him. Instead, he was used for medical experiments to create a drug to improve other people's ether aptitude. One doctor took a liking to him and even taught him how to do archery. The doctor tried to find a cure for Harumasa but when the higher ups discovered his attachment, he abandoned Harumasa. While he eventually learned the true nature of his treatment, he never understood why his master abandoned him.
Eventually Harumasa left the medical facility and went on to enroll in the Public Security Academy. He was considered a prodigy and soon joined the Hollow Affairs & Neutralization Department where he climbed the ranks and became an executive officer.
He was present at the Argos Hollow Incident and spoke up to prevent additional casualties when the higher ups were prioritizing assets. Impressed, Miyabi recruited him to become a founding member of Hollow Special Operations Section 6 along with Tsukishiro Yanagi. Despite being a slacker, he is sharp, competent, and loyal to his friends in Section 6.
He dislikes sweets and prefers bitter things. He enjoys fishing and playing with cats even though cats seem to dislike him.
